Privacy Policy

SurferFood (surferfood.com) is a public recipe and nutrition site. This page describes the information that is actually collected here today: a contact form, hosting and security logs, and third-party fonts. It does not describe products we do not run. There are no user accounts, no newsletter list, and no first-party advertising or analytics script on these pages.

Who operates this site

SurferFood is operated as an independent editorial site. For privacy questions, use hello@surferfood.com or the contact form on the homepage. That is the only contact channel we publish.

What you can do here

The site publishes static pages: recipes, nutrition guides, blog posts, gear notes, and about copy. You can browse those pages without creating an account. The only form on the site is the homepage contact form (email address and message).

Information we collect

Contact form

The homepage form asks for an email address and a message. Submitting it sends those fields to Web3Forms (api.web3forms.com) so we can read the note and reply. The form also includes a hidden honeypot field meant to stop bots; people should leave that field empty. We use the address and message only to respond. This is not a mailing list and we do not add submitters to a newsletter.

Hosting, security, and operational logs

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare receives standard request data needed to deliver pages and to run security checks, such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, and approximate location derived from the request. Cloudflare may present a bot challenge and set a short-lived security cookie so repeat visits can pass that check. We also use Cloudflare Workers observability (server-side request logs) to keep the site up. That is operational logging, not a visitor-analytics product we embed in the page.

We do not load Google Analytics, Plausible, or any other first-party analytics tag on SurferFood pages.

Fonts

Pages load Barlow Condensed and Lora from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). Google may receive your IP address and browser details when those files are requested. If you block third-party fonts, the site still works with your system typefaces.

Affiliate links

Some gear and supplement pages include affiliate links. If you follow one of those links, the destination site (for example a retailer) has its own privacy policy. We do not receive your payment details from those clicks.

Cookies and local storage

SurferFood pages do not set advertising cookies and the site script does not write to localStorage or sessionStorage. Recipe filters use the page URL only. Cloudflare’s security challenge, if shown, may set a cookie required to tell people from automated traffic. We do not use that cookie for marketing.

How we use information

• Reply to messages sent through the contact form or hello@surferfood.com.
• Deliver pages, keep the site available, and block abuse.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use contact-form submissions for advertising.

Who else sees it

• Web3Forms processes contact-form submissions so they reach our inbox.
• Cloudflare hosts the site and processes request and security data as described above.
• Google serves the webfonts mentioned above.

If you email us, that message is handled like any other inbox mail. We do not publish a home address.

How long we keep it

Contact messages are kept as long as we need them to reply and to keep a basic record of the conversation. Hosting and security logs follow Cloudflare’s defaults for Workers and bot protection. We do not keep a marketing profile on visitors.

Your choices

You can use the site without submitting the form. To ask for a copy or deletion of a message you sent, email hello@surferfood.com from the same address you used. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law. Write to that same address and we will work through the request.

Children

This site is written for a general adult audience interested in training food. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If the site starts collecting something new, for example a newsletter or an analytics tag, we will update this page and change the effective date at the top. The current version always lives at surferfood.com/privacy.
